What you share with Haven is sensitive. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Last updated: April 2026

This is a plain-English summary, not legal advice. Please review with a qualified lawyer for your jurisdiction before relying on it.

What we collect

  • Account info: your email and a display name.
  • Content you create: posts, replies, hearts, and chats with Haven.
  • Sensitive content: if you share information about your mental, physical, or financial wellbeing, we treat this as special-category data and protect it accordingly.
  • Technical data: basic logs (IP, device, timestamps) to keep the service safe and reliable.

How we use it

  • To run the community feed and your private chats with Haven.
  • To moderate content and keep the space safe.
  • To improve Haven (in aggregate, not by reading individual chats).

We do not sell your data. We do not use your private chats to train third-party models.

Who can see what

  • Chats with Haven are private to your account.
  • Community posts are visible to other Haven members. If you post anonymously, your identity is hidden from other members.
  • Moderators can access reported content to review it.

AI disclosure

Haven the companion is an AI. It is not a human, a therapist, or a medical professional. Conversations are processed by AI providers under strict data-protection agreements.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (UK/EU GDPR, California CPRA, and similar laws), you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Email us to exercise any of these.

Adults only

Haven is intended for adults aged 18 and over. The community discusses financial pressure, mental health, and lived adult experiences, so we limit access to adults. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we'll remove it.
